Recommendations after a lipectomy

Recommendations after a lipectomy

After an abdominoplasty or lipectomy procedure I give my patients some recommendations that will contribute to help their recovery.

  1. Sleep in a semi-sitting position and walk flexed the first eight days.
  2. Do not make any physical effort, or do heavy lifting, do not carry children or animals.
  3. Avoid heavy exercise and high impact sports for the first three months.
  4. It is desirable that during the first 48 hours after surgery to go accompanied by someone to the bathroom, it is quite possible to have dizziness when getting out of bed, sit for 5 minutes and then start walking.
  5. If you become constipated you may take papaya juice, mango or passion fruit.
  6. Always take a shower by sitting in a chair to prevent falling and try to always be accompanied, do not get micropores or injuries wet.
  7. Do not take a 100% straighten position during the first week.
  8. Do not sunbathe for at least three months.
  9. Avoid alcohol and cigarettes.
