Importance of manual lymphatic drainage therapy

What is manual lymphatic drainage therapy?

Manual lymphatic drainage is a therapy that consists in performing on the skin a soft and slow masagge , rhythmic, harmonic and very smooth movements that, when performed in the right direction, following the flow of the lymphatic ducts, stimulates the drainage of these ducts Lymphatic systems, cleaning the congested areas. This technique requires a certain amount of intuition and precision, since pressure is a determining factor and each case, as well as each patient, requires specific care and manipulations.
An effective manual lymphatic drainage session should last at least an hour. It is advisable that your therapist has in the room a harmonious environment and conducive to relaxation.

Why do I send my patients lymph drainage sessions manually?

When the lymphatic system is congested, the lymph nodes can not perform their work correctly and the fact that the lymph nodes are swollen is a sign that something abnormal happens inside us. It is normal for any type of surgery to present inflammation and edema. Edema or retentions occur when the lymphatic system is unable to purify those areas, when liquids and substances stagnate.
Lymphatic drainage massages prevent complications and stimulate the recovery of the body by cleaning the congested areas, prevents inflammation, helps in healing, reduces the appearance of unwanted lines and folds, promotes the reduction of body fat.

Taking into account the benefits of performing a good lymphatic drainage therapy and the consequences of not doing them, I send my patients at least 10 sessions and I recommend finding specialized and certified people to perform the massages since any other type of massage is contraindicated and can cause major problems to the patient.
